Talk on Otto Salvisberg's Roche factory - 29th September 2015

The Roche Building

This iconic factory on Broadwater Road is the only example of Otto Salvisberg's designs in the UK. Now sadly neglected and in need of significant renovation, as can be seen in the picture below, the building still retains the stamp of a design by a special architect.

The Trust is pleased to announce that on Tuesday 29th September Alexander Bieri, Curator of the Roche Historical Collection and Archive in Basel, will be giving a talk about the building with the benefit of material from the extensive company records. The factory photograph below is of Salvisberg's building in the 1930s and is shown courtesy WGC Library Local Studies Collection.

The talk will be given at the Focolare Centre in Parkway, which is best accessed via The Cloisters, starting at 7:30pm. There will be no formal charge for the talk but the Trust would appreciate donations on the night to help cover the costs of mounting the event.
